Wait Until Dark

This incredible stage thriller is one of my all-time favorites and PG Players' production of it was incredible to experience. This intimate space is perfect for the claustrophobic intensity that this play delivers being set in a New York basement apartment. Once again, my dear friends, Kathryn and Howard Little deliver a wonderfully thrilling production of this Frederick A. Knoft classic with a new adaptation by Jeffery Hatcher, which delivers a much tighter script and allows us, the audience, in on more inside information that just adds to the tension even more.

Brenna Brown delivers a heartbreaking and incredible performance as our heroine of the piece, Susan. Ms. Brown delivered a very strong-willed Susan that made me root for her from the very beginning. As always, once again, my dear friend Dennis Purdie, delivers a terrifying performance as Roat, our villain of the piece. Dennis delivered a calculating and cold interpretation of this character that just adds to the tension and creepiness of this electrifying piece of theater.

The rest of the company, Devin Malone (Mike), Russ Card (Carlino), Megan Fontana (Gloria) and my dear friend, Dallin Bradford (Sam, Susan's husband) all deliver wonderful performances and help to make this a thrilling and exciting time at the theater.

Tina Fontana's costumes and set were delightfully given a film noir feeling to them and it worked so well! I loved her homage to Hitchcock in the design including Frederick A. Knoft's other thrilling stage classic, later adapted for the screen by Hitchcock himself, "Dial M for Murder." Congratulations to everyone involved in this wonderful and thrilling production of a true theatrical classic!
